The area also has been recognized as one of the top ten “Techiest Cities” in America, according to an article by Computerworld.com, as well as one of the “100 Best Communities For Young People” by America’s Promise Alliance.**
With a population of approximately 160,000, Bloomington-Normal has many ties to education. In addition to Heartland Community College, the area houses Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University, and Lincoln College.**
